Sometimes you can't help but think about the fact that there are a few certain people you really wish you knew better than you do. Over the course of the last three and a half years, I have somehow become "the person that knows everyone, or everyone knows of". There are a lot of positives to this in having a lot of acquaintances and a large network of people and resources to access. The down side, though, is that sometimes you really fail at getting to know people well. Especially when it just feels too late right now, since I'm only at Whitworth for a few more months.
That was the deeper thinking of the day.
Yesterday started at 7:45 in the morning when I left the house to meet up with everyone in the Parque Central. We then proceded to head to a canopy adventure tour on Barva, one of the volcanoes here. It was great fun. Pictures soon to come. In the afternoon, we had way too much fun on campus. For those of you who haven't seen it, you should watch the video of Whitworth Students at Midnight Madness doing the 'interlude dance'. We of Whitworth South decided that we should also make one of these videos. It can be found here. David is a wonderful video editor who stayed up very late to put all of it together. We filmed while zip-lining, in San Rafael de Heredia and up on campus in the ponds and the rain. It was pretty fantastic. That evening, I got to go to La Viña with Lara and David and it was a very nice end to a wonderful day.
This morning it was Nanda and whoever else wanted to go (ended up being David) adventure to the markets downtown. One thing we discovered, the Mercado Central is not open on Sundays. Luckily, the artisan (aka tourist) market was down the way. I have to say, though, some of the paintings we found were really awesome. Especially the ones that are on feathers.
Now, it is CORE 350 time. Policy paper for the win.
